Hi. Watch he video in the beginner series that shows the studio set up. I usually have a stand in by using a shirt or something else close to my skin tone. Set it near where you will be standing so you can focus on it as well. If using the default camera (which is not usually the best) it should auto-adjust. If using Filmic Pro or Almost DSLR apps, you will be beat to use a stand in to set focus and exposure. Let me know if you need more clarification after watching the two camera studio setup video.
I realize the apps are only a few bucks, but is it necessary? Filmic and Almost DSLR both come in a free app version.
Hey Kevin, Please try the free apps first. If it is something you like then possibly “upgrade” – I just didn’t like the ads taking up part of the screen since I use them so much.
Matthew
This is a great video… wish I’d watched this one 3 days ago before I did my videos 🙂 I used half of it but this video shows the things I could have done to fix the things that were bugging me 🙂
Matthew,
I didn’t catch the name of this app?
Thanks!
FilMic Pro 🙂 they is by far the best I’ve used on the iPhone and iPad.
Hi Matthew!
If I’m setting this up for me, by myself, how do I set the exposure and the focus?
Cheers!
